These conical flasks can be made from glass, or can be silver or silver-plated. They attach to the saddle by means of a leather holster. Traditionally, in the hunting field a man would carry a separate flask and sandwich case, while a woman would carry a single case that held both - a canteen. This tradition is still upheld by some hunts, but many ladies now use these separate flasks.
