A conical saddle flask with a silver plated bayonet or captured cap. It is stamped "J.D & S" and has the trumpet and banner stamp of James Dixon & Sons. The plating is a little rubbed on the top of the lid. The glass is in very good condition. This case closes with a lid with a billet fastening. The dark brown leather case is in good order, the girth strap and top strap are new replacements.
