A pale tan leather case, which appears to have had very little use. It would darken with leather dressings. The front is initialled "D.E.W.L." . There are two small dark spots on the lid of the case. The saddle and girth straps are in very good condition. The case closes with a billet fastening. It is unlined.
The sandwich tin has a single hinge, it is plated and in very clean condition. Inside it is stamped "JD&S" with a trumpet & banner - this stands for James Dixon & Sons, who worked from 1851 to 1976.
Although hardly used, this sandwich tin and case must be at least 34 years old.
