Hitchcock Gag
A steel Hitchcock Gag. This bit causes the bit to move upwards in the horse's mouth when used because the reins would attach to the cheekpieces of the bridle via the pulleys on each bit ring. This bit is stamped “J.H”, which stands for Hawkins and has an ordnance mark, indicating military use.
