Buxton bit by Latchford

A burnished steel fixed mouth Buxton coaching bit with a low port. The bit still has its original curb hooks. It is stamped "Latchford" and "St.Martins Lane". Benjamin Latchford was a London bitmaker who published "The Loriner" in 1883
