A steel ring bit, probably from South America. The ring is round and undecorated. The mouthpiece has some simple decoration.
The rectangular port is quite high and holds three steel rollers or crickets - the central one is larger and ridged.
The short curved cheeks each have a small domed silver boss. The curved shackle bar has simple geometric decoration and a shell (the symbol of pilgrims and St James) at its lowest point.
