An old steel bit with curved cheeks and a mullen or curved mouthpiece. Unusually it has rectangular extra loops at its top - perhaps they let it function as a hanging bit. The shape is somewhere between a modern post driving bit & a late 19th/early 20th century Prince of Wales driving bit.
There is some old surface pitting on the bit, but it is quite sound for display. I cannot find any makers' marks or stamps. It may be French.
Mouthpiece 4¾" (12cm), Cheek 6½" (16.5cm) not icluding extra loop
