Unusual Swales Snaffle Bit
This horse bit is made of steel. It has a straight mouth that bends back at each end where the rings attach - rather like the mouthpiece of a Scamperdale pelham. I believe these may be known as "Check bits" It is stamped "Swales Patent 548" and "Hawkins Steel"
