A Victorian branch cheek steel bit. It has a low port and the mouthpiece is stamped "Cuff & Son". Cuff & Son were a company of saddlers based in Curzon Street in London in the mid 19th century
The cheeks are curved, there is no shackle bar. There is a cheek boss on each side of the bit. Each cheek boss is cast "VR" (Victoria Regina), indicating that the bit is Victorian, there is also a garter that reads "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" and a Victoria crown.
