A Military Elbow or Ashleigh Horse Bit
A plated steel bit. It has a low port. The cheeks are stamped "086" with a broad arrow ordnance mark , "Steel", "T.W", "L", "DA0153" and "1961". The plating is in pretty good condition for a fifty year old bit. Unusually it is yellow or gold coloured.
The cheeks are angled, with a choice of two slots for the lower curb rein. The original curb chain and hook remain.
