A leather pouch which attaches to the saddle. This holds a spare horseshoe - in this case a hindshoe with two toe clips and four nail holes on each side - this must have been the most adapatable pattern. The pouch also holds seven horseshoe nails. It is marked "D.Mason & Sons Ltd., Walsall 1940". It also bears an ordnance mark and the number 21.
This kit is in mint condition, there is no sign of it ever having been used. The leather is rather stiff and the flap does not appear to have ever been folded over.
