South American Saddle by Mattaldi
Similar saddles can be seen at the Museo del gaucho in Uruguay
It is a large saddle with a matching leather "saddle cloth" The leather is decorated with tooling. There are silver decorations on the pommel, cantle and stirrups.
It is stamped "P.E.Mattaldi Cuyo 807". There are two decorated girths/cinches with it
Mattaldi saddles are mentioned in the report of the 1876 Annual Exhibition of the Scientific Society of Argentina
