A wooden saddle from Tibet. This saddle with its hight pommel is made from crudely carved wood with a leather pad tacked on as a seat. The leather is hard and dry. Skins and textiles would have been placed on the seat. This saddle has a red seal on its pommel - this indicates that it was an antique legally exported from China Ref : saddle021 |
