Saddle039 Basket saddle
An early twentieth
Century child's saddle, made of wicker and in the form of a chair. This saddle is narrow - it was probably made to use on a donkey
The
saddle pad itself is covered in wool and stuffed with horsehair. These basket saddles
were used for very young children on the lead-rein.
This saddle is in fair
condition, one "arm" is coming adrift at the front, and there
are some old woodworm holes - the woodworm are now dead but I would only use this saddle for display not for a child to ride in.
If you are looking for a usable saddle please look at Basket saddle 039
