A single spur in white metal, possibly silver.
The shaft of this spur is beautifully fashioned as the head & neck of a peacock or pheasant.
The spur chains are handmade, and the fastenings decorated with fish or serpents.
I know very little about this spur, I bought it as 18th Century European.
There are very similar spurs in the Musée du Cheval in Saumur, and I have seen illustrations of Russian, Austrian and French spurs with bird heads - more usually an eagle than a gamebird.
