17th Century Mughal stirrup
I had thought that this stirrup was from Tibet. However Christies are selling an almost identical pair (details here), catalogued as 17th Century Mughal, and their knowledge of Asian design is infinitely greater than mine.
It is heavy and cast in bronze, there is some verdigris on it. It has a rectangular tread or footplate. Each side is rectangular and is pierced, there is a head of a mythical creature on each side, and another figure on each side of the rectangular suspension loop.
