A pair of steel cradle or hussar pattern stirrups. These have round flat treads rising to curved arches, with integral slots for the stirrup leathers.
One tread has a lamellar split along one side, but the metal is not flaking or disintegrating, there is also a similar separation on one side of one of its arches, these did not photograph well.
The stirrups are probably 19th century. There are no maker's marks or stamps.
Dimensions : Width 5" (12.5cm), height 6¼" (16cm), width of tread 3¼" (8.2cm)
534g (1lb 2¾oz)
