These stirrups are made of brass or bronze. They are round with a triangular suspension loop at the top of each stirrup.
There is a rib along the underside of each tread. These stirrups are not decorated. Each has a small museum or collection label on its underside which reads "983 B".
This stirrup design is typically African, often associated with the Dogon people of Mali. They are made by lost wax casting, there is an excellent blog about this technique at Sahel Design
