Each of these large, heavy stirrups is carved from a single piece of dark wood
Three of the sides are covered in sheets of silver coloured metal - this has tarnished black in places, so is probably silver, but not very high grade.
The front of each stirrup is decorated with a double headed bird, probably an eagle, surrounded by flowers, vines climb up each side panel.
The tops of the stirrups are covered in metal and clenched fists hold the supporting arches.
