Antique Sidesaddle Whip with Ivory Handle Carved as Spaniel

This whip has an ivory handle carved in the form of a dog's head (possibly a Spaniel or Setter). The eyes are inset white hard stones with detail painted in . The collar and ferrule are both gilt metal. The shaft of the whip is whalebone covered in braided linen. There is a replacement silk lash at its end The condition is very good for such a delicate piece of work
