This Victorian whip has a staghorn or antler handle with a good aged patina. It has a silver button on the heel of the staghorn stamped "Callow, Park Lane, London"
It has a silver collar hallmarked London 1889, stamped "Callow" and engraved "W.Schreiber, Watford".
The long stock or shaft of the whip is covered in braided thread (possibly horsehair). This is longer than modern hunting whips, it may be best for a sidesaddle rider or to help with opening gates from a large horse.
It has its original leather open keeper or loop at its end, held on by a leather sleeve.
