Long antler whip with thong
This is a very unusual whip made from a single piece of antler or staghorn
It has a hooked handle with a whistle in it (which still works well).
The shaft or stock is quite straight
It ends in a small open keeper, the binding is finished with a Spanish ring knot, typical of British whips.
It has a long white braided thong which divides into two for a 3 inch (8cm) stretch towards its end - a feature sometimes seen in dog whips
One part of the loop that attaches the thong is broken, it would not withstand being cracked.
