1936 Schomberg Gentleman's Leather Hunting Whip or Crop
This whip has a staghorn handle with a raised gatepusher section.
There is a silver button on the heel of the staghorn, this is stamped "J.Schomberg & Sons, London".
James Schomberg & Sons were whip makers at 10 Long Acre, WC London from 1905.
It has a slver collar hallmarked London 1936.
The thick stock or shaft is covered in mahogany coloured braided leather.
It has its original stitched leather keeper and thong with a loop at its end to which a green cord lash.is attached
There is a little fine surface crackling to the leather of the keeper and one strand of the thong is damaged near its end.
