1912 Silver Collared Hunting Whip by Zair - Sold
This whip has an antler or staghorn handle with a silver button on the heel which is stamped "G & J Zair, Makers"
There is a crown shaped metal "gatepusher" on the top of the staghorn.
It has a silver collar which is engraved "S.S.B. from N.B Oct 16th 1913".
It is also stamped "Zair" and hallmarked Birmingham 1912. Around the edge of the collar one can just make out the stamp "Steel Lined, Real Kangaroo"
There are a few small dents in the silver.
The shaft or stock is covered in dark brown braided kangaroo leather.
The whip has its original stitched leather keeper.
It has a braided leather thong which is bound at its end and a cord lash
