1871 Gents Hunting Whip
This hunting whip or crop has a staghorn handle with a silver button that reads "W.Shannon. Maker". It has a silver collar, hallmarked Birmingham 1871. The collar has engine turned decoration and a blank cartouche. The whip has a long reddish coloured cane stock or shaft with a good patina, there are a few dark marks on the stock in one place (see images). It has a new stitched keeper.
