This whip has a staghorn handle with a crown screw in the top. It has a silver collar, hallmarked 1951, and engraved "Charles 10th July 1951".
It is also stamped "Maxwell", the company of Henry Maxwell used to be a firm who made and sold boots and spurs, first in Piccadilly, then from Dover Street in London.
The company still exists, although now they largely sell clothes.
The shaft or stock is covered in braided leather, it has a good stitched keeper, thong and lash
Its small size would make it suitable for a woman or youth

7" (18cm) keeper & 42½" (108cm) thong not including the lash
