1922 Silver Mounted Gents Leather Hunting Whip by Swaine & Adeney - Sold
This whip has an antler or staghorn handle
There is a silver button on the back of the staghorn stamped "Swaine & Adeney Ltd, London".
It has a silver collar with rolled edges, this is hallmarked London 1922 and stamped with the silversmith's mark "ESA"
The shaft or stock is covered in mahogany coloured leather with a finely stitched seam.
There are some marks on the leather and possibly some dog tooth marks about two-thirds of its length from the collar (please see the images).
The whip has a good quality replacement stitched bridle leather keeper.
There is a braided leather thong with a terminal loop which holds a green cord lash.
