This saddle frame or tree is made of wood with iron supports and applied metal decoration.
It has metal arches at the front and back and wooden pieces which would sit on either side of the horse's spine.
The front arch is decorated with three colonial Indian coins, one dated 1944 and two showing the head of King George VI (1937-1952).
There are the remains of the leather seat and a further three coins on the inside of the front arch.
This was a genuine working saddle, it has repairs and has twisted.
