This conical flask has a silver plated bayonet or captured cap. It is stamped "J.D & S" (James Dixon & Sons) on one side and has the company's trumpet & banner symbol on the other.
The tan coloured case has a good patina. The girth strap is attached so that the flask will sit on the near-side of the saddle. The case closes with a billet fastening and has a replacement top strap which attaches the flask to the D ring of the saddle. This is a little pale at present but will darken over time The very fine stitching is in good order
