A shoe horn and button hook with silver handles
The hollow silver handles are finely cast as horse forelegs.
The casting is very detailed, showing tendon grooves, fetlock hair and horseshoe nails.
The handles are hallmarked Birmingham 1899 & 1898 & stamped with the initials H.C.F. for Henry Charles Freeman.
One has a long steel button hook, stamped "Steel".
The other has a shoe horn, also stamped "Steel".
Both of the steel parts were originally plated - this has worn on the button hook and around the edges of the shoe horn.
